Whether you need an ammoniated zinc, chelated manganese, or a special blend of micronutrients, our MicroSolutions line has a product for you. Unique blends with carbon sources are also available. Organic carbon sources prolong phosphate and nitrogen efficiency, stimulate root growth, feed beneficial soil organisms, and increase soil organic matter.
The Importance of Zinc
Zinc is one of the micronutrients required for plant growth and development. Zinc is essential for protein synthesis, seed and grain formation, plant maturity, growth regulation, and the formation of enzyme systems. Zinc is immobile in the soil, so a constant supply is needed for optimum growth.
The Andersons offers the following four zinc products as well as many other formulations. These products offer varying compatibility and flexibility for application timing and mixing.
EDTA CHELATED ZINC 9%
Zinc 9% is a fully chelated solution of zinc EDTA and is recommended for the prevention and correction of zinc deficiency in all crops. Zinc 9% is recommended for use on all soil types. The preferred use is soil application to prevent the deficiency although it may also be used as a foliar spray for correction.
TRI Z
Tri Z™ is a state-of-the-art formulation combining three sources of zinc into a starter zinc providing the benefit of immediate availability and sustained release. Used as part of a balanced fertility program, it assures that the nutritional demands of today’s hybrids will be satisfied during the critical first 30 days of growth. Tri Z is a formulation that can be used in ammonium polyphosphate as well as pre-blended APP/liquid nitrogen combinations to prevent zinc deficiencies in the cool, wet soils of early spring, especially under minimum and no-till practices.
NULEX AMMONIATED ZINC 15%
Nulex® 15% ammoniated zinc is designed to mix with ammonium polyphosphate (APP) solutions and is compatible with UAN and ammonium thoisulfate. When applied with a liquid starter in a concentrated band underneath the soil surface at planting, Nulex 15% can be ten times more effective than dry broadcast zinc. It enables nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and sulfur to better feed nutrient-hungry plants.
CITRIC CHELATED ZINC 10%
Zinc 10% is a chelated micronutrient formulated for foliar or soil application. It is recommended for use as an additive in dry or liquid fertilizers and is compatible with most of the herbicides, insecticides, and agricultural chemicals that can be utilized in combination with liquid fertilizers. Zinc 10% may not be compatible with some liquid fertilizer formulations.
