Follow-Up With Foliars: How PureGrade® and CropCoach® Can Help You Defeat Deficiencies
Posted on April 04, 2017
Outgrow.
Following-up with PureGrade foliar fertilizers prior to stressful physiological plant stages helps to develop strong, healthy crops.
Outlast.
PureGrade foliar fertilizers help keep plants strong to resist environmental stresses, increase nutrient levels in the plant, and stimulate growth.
Out Yield.
The Andersons offers several PureGrade low-salt foliar products containing slow release nitrogen (SRN). SRN extends absorption and minimizes any leaf interaction, setting the plant up for higher yields. Detail on these products is below, including labels and product sheets.
PureGrade Low-Salt Foliar Fertilizers with Slow Release Nitrogen
Over Pass® 22-0-2
Over Pass® 22-0-2 is a chloride free foliar and contains slow release nitrogen to extend absorption and minimize any leaf interaction from the application of nitrogen.
- Aids the plant during the stressful reproductive stage
- Extends absorption and minimizes leaf interaction from the application of nitrogen
- Sets the plant up for higher yields
- Provides 10-14 days of nitrogen feeding
Over Pass® 10-2-10
Over Pass® 10-2-10 contains slow release nitrogen to extend absorption and minimize any leaf interaction from the application of nitrogen. For best results, use in a program with First Pass®, our premium soybean starter.
- Aids the plant during the stressful reproductive stage
- The N, K, and Mn will help retain blooms, thereby setting up the plant for higher yields
- Sets the plant up for higher yields
- Provides 10-14 days of nitrogen feeding
Summary (Left): Both treatments received a starter application of Season Pass Plus. The second treatment received 1 gal/A of Over Pass 22-0-2 applied at the V5 stage, leading to a 4.8 bu/A increase over the check.
Summary (Right): An application of Over Pass 10-2-10 was made pre-bloom and again at the R1 stage. The combination of the two applications pushed the yield 2.4 bu/A higher than check.
Super 72™
Super 72 is 28% liquid nitrogen with 72% of its nitrogen in a slow release form. Super 72 features increased crop safety and increased nitrogen absorption, translocation and remobilization. Estimated release pattern is 8 to 12 weeks for improved efficiency.
- Extends nitrogen release for both soil and foliar applications
- Encourages plant safety
- Reduces nitrogen leaching
- Reduces nitrogen volatilization
Summary: Foliar applied Super 72 resulted in a 5-8 bu/bu/A increase over three years in four different locations.
Super 25B™
Super 25B is 25% liquid nitrogen with 25% of its nitrogen in a slow release form and 0.5% Boron. Super 25B is formulated as a triazone for improved crop safety and minimal corrosiveness. Boron is involved in the plant development and the regulation of sugars and starches throughout the plant. Estimated release pattern is 6 to 8 weeks.
- Extends nitrogen release for both soil and foliar applications
- Encourages plant safety
- Reduces nitrogen leaching
- Reduces nitrogen volatilization

Analyze Nutrient Levels with CropCoach®
Plant tissue analysis complements a proven soil testing plan and helps identify ways to use nutrients more efficiently. Unseen nutrient imbalances or toxicities can be identified as well. Tissue analysis also measures the efficacy of fertilization and nutrient programs, as well as the levels of nutrients such as copper, iron, sulfur and others not observed in routine soil tests.
Use CropCoach to quickly analyze tissue test results and identify nutrient deficiencies. CropCoach is designed to generate foliar product recommendations based on individualized needs, allowing for timely corrective action.
CropCoach helps to defeat deficiencies in three simple steps:
- Step 1 - Conduct tissue testing
- Step 2 - Input tissue test results at CropCoach.com
- Step 3 - Choose products to correct nutrient deficiencies
